Principal Teacher and Office Manager C.S.T.D Registered Teacher Kristen is a Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dance registered teacher. As well as gaining a Bachelor of Education, Kristen has been employed in the Education and Performing Arts sectors for over 20 years. She has been a Director (DECD) and or Educator, choreographer and performer of various programs. Her passion for the Arts combined with a successful background in Preschool Education; Primary Education; experience with children with special needs, a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Diploma of Community Services, (Intellectual Disabilities); highly developed communication skills; strong interpersonal qualities makes for a pretty well rounded Performing Arts Teacher.
Kristen’s wide public performance experience includes Principal Roles in many Cabarets and Musicals. Some of her favourite roles have been playing Bombalurina (Singing/dancing ‘Macavity’) and to cut up the floor as Anita in Westside Story for the Metropolitan Musical Theatre Company. Previous performances include Smitty in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Gladys in Pajama Game, Susan in Calamity Jane, Madame Sin Sin in Dames At Sea and as a soloist in Jerry’s Girls (all for the Met). Kristen choreographed ‘The Wizard of Oz’ for the Hills Musical Company in 2000 and played Cassie in their 2004 production of A Chorus Line. She also lived and worked overseas working in the education and performing Arts sectors for two years. In that time she choreographed for the Oxford Academy and taught singing, tap/jazz/ballet for Sparkle Musical Theatre (both in the U.K).
Kristen holds a Intermediate Coach accreditation with Gymnastics Australia and will be further developing such training through GYMSA. She has developed preschool dance, drama and gymnastics programs that focus on the Brain Development required for physical development and movement in young children which is an asset in many of her preschool classes at Kinetic. Kristen is really excited to take Kinetic Dance Company-for Youth to Mylor this year and is particularly thrilled to assist ,children through to Adults, to connect together through DANCE, DRAMA and SINGING.

Admin Support Rae Heanes has a C.S.T.D Dip. and Graduate Certificate In Disability Studies and is an all round authority on all things Dance. She is a Jack of All trades at Kinetic and a much loved Support with many,many years of Performing Arts experience.
